Naples can be reached by plane arriving at Napoli Capodichino Airport. For visitors arriving at Roma Leonardo da Vinci Airport and wishing to proceed to Naples by train, there is a shuttle train service from Roma Leonardo da Vinci Airport to Roma Termini Railways Station (trains leave every 30 or 60 minutes). From Roma Termini Railways Station, there are trains leaving approximately every hour for the two main Railways Stations in Naples: Napoli Centrale (Piazza Garibaldi) and Napoli Mergellina.

Capri can be easily reached from Naples. The islands in the bay of Naples are served by ferries and hydrofoils from Molo Beverello (next to the main harbor) and by hydrofoils (but not by ferries) from Mergellina tourist harbor (see the map below).

The trip to Capri takes about 40 minutes by hydrofoil and 80 minutes by ferry. As shown by the table below, the last trip to Capri during the conference period is at about 21.30 p.m.. Consequently, if you plan to arrive in Naples in the evening, you might need to stay overnight and proceed for Capri the morning after (the first ferry leaves at 5.45 a.m.).

Molo Beverello can be reached from Napoli Capodichino Airport by taxi or bus. The bus (a little blue bus) is operated by CLP company and leaves from the airport arrivals side every 30 minutes (fare 3,000 It. L., tickets can be bought on the bus). A taxi trip from the Airport to Molo Beverello costs about 25,000 It. L. The trip (by taxi or bus) takes about 30 minutes under normal traffic conditions.

Mergellina tourist harbor can be reached from Napoli Capodichino Airport by taxi. The taxi fare is about 30,000 It. L. and the trip takes about 40 minutes under normal traffic conditions.

For those arriving at Napoli Centrale Railways Station (Piazza Garibaldi), Molo Beverello is the nearest pier. It can be reached by city bus R2 (arrival bus stop: Piazza Municipio) or by taxi (the fare is about 15,000 It. L. and the trip takes about 15 minutes under normal traffic conditions). Mergellina pier is at walking distance (400 meters) from Mergellina Railways Station where both fast trains and subway trains stop. Subway trains link Napoli Centrale Railways Station to Mergellina Railways Station every 10-20 minutes and the trip takes about 20 minutes (fare 1,500 It. L.). Bus and subway tickets can be bought at news vendor, tobacconist shops and at subway stations. Mergellina Pier can be reached from Napoli Centrale Railways Station by taxi (the fare is about It. L. 20,000) and the trip takes about 25 minutes under normal traffic conditions.

Once arrived at Capri (Marina Grande harbour), you can reach the town of Capri up on the hill by funicolare (cable car) or by bus (fare 1,800 It. L.) which will take you to the square known as the "Piazzetta". The ECCO XIII conference site "La Residenza" hotel is very close to "Piazzetta".
